apogee binoculars

Apogee binoculars offer good value-for-money,and their astro-vue line is especially interesting to astronomers ...I believe the word "apogee" is a term which refers to orbits around the Earth. One thing is certain, and that is that the company Apogee Instruments Inc - in the process of partnering with Optics Planet- offers a hot range of digital distance viewing products suitable for star and planet viewing. And, included in their star-gazing products, you'll find a variety of affordable binoculars and telescopes.Apogee really knows and understands the needs of beginner and intermediate star gazers. They aim to answer their needs, and their binoculars and telescopes are extremely easy-to-use, and easy to get started with.Generally speaking, their equipment is ready-to-use out of the box, and does not require any fancy or difficult assembly. You should not need to fiddle around with any calibration work, and Apogee claim to have dedicated staff ready to assist with any questions you may have.Price-wise, you'll find their binoculars really affordable, especially when compared to other astronomy equipment.Quality is good, but not excellent.All-in-all, you'll receive wonderful value-for-money. But, you'll need to remember that these are not top-end astronomy binoculars. At the top of their list, Apogee makes an excellent line of binoculars called the Astro-VueSeries. Let's take a look at them ...

apogee binoculars - astro-vue series

Advantages

The Astro VUE binoculars come in a variety of sizes and prices, including a right-angle model.Designed for star gazing and with the beginner in mind, they’re easy-to-use and give reasonably professional results. All Astro VUE binoculars have multi-coated optics and, what makes them rather special, is their built-in dark-sky nebula filters, which improve and increase contrast when viewing emission and planetary nebulae.Prices are inexpensive when compared to other astronomy equipment, and they're relatively light for the size. You'll also get good eye-relief, collimation, and light-gathering ability.

Drawbacks

Although easy-to-use, some customers complain about lack of instructions, and feel an appropriate booklet should be included. As these binoculars are paint-covered rather than rubber-covered, others complain of their ergonomics.Their lack of color correction and sharpness have also been criticized. One major drawback is shortage of warranty, for a large percentage of the binoculars only offer a year's warranty.

apogee binoculars - conclusion

All-in-all, excellent value-for-money.You'll get good - but not great - quality. Ideal as starter astronomy binoculars, or as a secondary pair.
