Binoculars Compact Nikon

Review of Binoculars Compact Nikon - Travelite & Sportstar Series ...

Compact or pocket-sized binoculars are not everyone's choice, are they?

It's true that small size and light weight are appealing.... but you may consider their image slightly inferior to mid or full-sized binoculars, and their field of view a little narrow.

However, there's definitely no getting away from the fact that, for general travel purposes, watching sporting events and concerts, or as a secondary pair to heavier binoculars, Compacts are an extremely handy choice.

If you're thinking of treating yourself to a pair of compact binoculars, do consider Nikon - you'll discover they offer both a wide and well-respected range.

Their quality is much-appreciated world-wide, and most of their models gain excellent reviews.

What's more, you'll find them really affordable. Definitely a big plus!

Binoculars Compact Nikon -
Travelite and Sportstar

Nikon compact models come in two series - Travelite and Sportstar - with the Travelites costing just a wee bit more than the Sportstars.

With the exception of the zoom model, all Travelites are under $100. And the Sportstars will set you back no more than $55-$60.

Not bad, is it, for such a well-respected make?

Binoculars Compact Nikon - Travelite Series

Let's take a look at models in the Travelite Series first ...

Nikon 8x25 Travelite V Binoculars

An extremely popular, general-purpose compact, considered excellent value-for-money.

Points that have received praise include their crisp image, easy center focus knob, plus ease of use if you wear glasses.

Field of view is 294 feet.

Nikon 9x25 Travelite V Binoculars

You'll find these rubber-coated binoculars easy to grip, with good ergonomic design.

Once again, they're easy-to-use if you where eye glasses, with convenient eye relief.

A crisp, clear image, but field of view a little narrow.

Nikon 10x25 Travelite V Binoculars

These will certainly fit well into your backpack, and you'll find them resiliant and easy-to-handle.

The optics are reasonably good and quality versus price is fair, although not excellent.

Nikon 12x25 Travelite V Binoculars

Once again, very durable and easy-to-use.

Their aspherical lenses make for reduced distortion, and they offer close focus under 14 feet.

But they're not as popular as other Travelite models.

Nikon 8-24x25 Travelite V Zoom Binoculars

Zoom binoculars don't appeal to everyone ... you may be amongst those who consider them slightly inferior.

However, these Nikon Travelite Zoom Binoculars have received excellent reviews from numerous satisfied customers.

Their magnification varies from 8 through to 24 times, with good image quality.

Recommended for travel, sporting events and concerts.

Binoculars Compact Nikon - Sportstar Series

And now for the more economical Sportstar Series ...

Nikon 8x25 Sportstar Binoculars

These are the cheapest of Nikon's compact binoculars.

Water-resistant and suitable for eye-glass wearers, you'll get a wide field of view and multi-coated optics.

Nikon 10x25 Sportstar Binoculars

These binoculars perform well and, once again, the price is a main attraction.

Good quality optics, reasonable field of view, with close focus and water-resistant casing.

To Sum Up ...

As you can see, Nikon offers a variety of compact binoculars from which to choose.

Some are more popular than others, but most offer excellent value-for-money and receive good reviews.

If a Compact Model is really what you're after, Nikon represents a fine and affordable choice.
