Bushnell Birding Series binoculars - Birder
I own a pair of Bushnell Birding Series binoculars called the Bushnell Birder. I am a novice bird watcher. As I tried to observe birds with a smaller pair of binoculars, I discovered that I had a difficult time finding a bird in the field of vision.
They were easy to carry, but were not helping me much. Often the bird would have flown away or disappeared into the leaves before I could find it looking through the binoculars. Shopping around, I found a moderately priced pair of binoculars called the Bushnell Birder.
These binoculars are 8 x 40; the number 8 in this designation meaning the bird appears 8 times closer than with the unaided eye. At numbers above 8.5, it is sometimes difficult to hold binoculars steady enough for a clear image. The number 40 relates to the brightness of the image. Forty is bright enough for most all birding circumstances.
The field of view for this Bushnell Birder is 341 feet at 1000 yards, meaning at 1000 yards you can see an area 341 feet in width.
This is sufficient for most birding. I immediately could find the bird more easily with this field of vision, and have become much better with practice.
These binoculars also have fully coated optics, which means all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with anti-reflective materials. This improves color, reduces glare and maximizes image brightness.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my Bushnell Birder binoculars. The size is not too small, but not so large that I get tired holding them up or carrying them around my neck. I am happily identifying plenty of birds!
