BUSHNELL Natureview Binoculars 8x42

by Justin williams
(missoula montana)

I?ve used these binoculars for many years. They are very great for nature walks, and for getting a very clear picture of animals/wildlife pretty far away.

Every time we go hunting I use these as a spotting scope to find my prey. I have yet to miss anything that came into site. The magnification on these binoculars are strong and very clear images as well.

They are lightweight and can even set them on my tripod for that extra steady focus shot. The binoculars are built tough as I?ve tested that fact by dropping them plenty of times on accident. Just dust them off and you are ready to go again.

They are great if you like to sit for hours watching birds, deer, wildlife pass you by. The focus lens on them makes it easy to determine just what you are looking at and if you are a bird watcher like me then you know even the slightest bit off and you could be on a different bird altogether.

The Bushnell 8x42 nature view series binoculars are definitely one for the avid outdoors people. Their lightweight easy to use design makes them an even match for even the least experienced users.

They aren?t the most powerful on the market but they do the right job and for the right amount of money as well. You cant go wrong with these I recommend them to nature fans everywhere.

So sit back grab your camera and your bird book and enjoy the day seeing crystal clear pictures of a beautiful scenery filled with birds, deer, and all sorts of wildlife.

Needs a better neck strap
by: Gowri D

I've had these binoculars for about 3 years now. And very true to its name it is very very rugged. I'm a bird watcher and this pair of binocs is my companion on all my outings.

The Bushnell H2O has a rubber grip and coating all around which makes it ergonomically superior to other binoculars which have a bakelite or plastic outer frame. It also has fine grooves on the outer surface ensuring that it doesn't slip from the hand. I have the model which has a roof prism and hence is smaller in size.

The focussing knob is well placed and you don't have to search for it while viewing. True to its name, it is water proof and like they advertise - you can wet it, dip it or dunk it in water. However, it is not immediately usable after a dip in the water.

The neck strap on this one could have been better designed. However well I tie it, it still manages to untie itself and fall off. One such instance happened near a bridge and I almost lost my binocs because of that. Some food for thought for the manufacturers.

I somehow feel that the finer details are not very well captured in this binocs. My friends are able to spot fine details with their binocs (even with lesser magnification) whereas I'll be struggling to do so with higher magnification and my better eyesight :(

The other drawback of this binocs comes with the objective cover. Although these are well designed and made of rubber and fit snugly into the objective, the thread system holding them is pretty loose and they are prone to fall off unknowingly. I've lost them (and recovered too) quite a few times. They also fall over on to the objective while viewing if you have them on.
