Bushnell Sportview B17 7 x 35

by Peggy
(Cosby, TN USA)

I bought these binoculars in 1985 at McGuckin hardware in Boulder, Co. They have served me very well and I still use them frequently. They are not the most powerful by a long shot but they are great for concerts, sporting events and bird-watching.

I have also been able to view the craters on the moon and have used them for star gazing but they are much better for closer ranges. What I like most about them is the Insta-Focus feature. You set up the binoculars by turning the right lens.

Then Insta-Focus lever on the top of the binoculars can be adjusted for distance and closer viewing instantly. If you are viewing an object, like a bird, and it flies to a tree several yards away you can instantly focus in on it with the Insta-Focus. It is very a stream-lined action.

These binoculars are very durable, I have had them since 1985 and I although I have dropped them many times they have not broken and work as good as the day I bought them.

I also like the size. 7" x 5". They are a perfect size for me not too large and heavy or bulky but also not so compact that they are easy to lose or hard to use. They have a long sturdy vinyl strap to wear them around your neck.

The case which comes with them is an added bonus. It is a brown vinyl hard sided box with a good solid metal clasp and vinyl shoulder length strap.
