Canon 10x30 Image Stabilization Binoculars Mod:2897A002

by Court

The last pair you should ever own.

The last pair you should ever own.

The first impression I get when took them out of the box was how solid but at the same type remarkably light these were. Once I took them into the field and testing them I was amazed at the detail.

This is what Image Stabilization is all about and Canon has done it again with this superb set. You will need batteries to power the Image Stabilization feature, but after trying it for the first time you will be convinced and more likely than not carry an extra set on you at all times.

My first breath-taking experience was at the Zoo about a week or so after I bought the pair. I ended up testing them out on a Tiger about 50 meters away that was eating. I felt like I was inside the Tiger's den the detail was so clear and close and at one point when the Tiger looked up and looked at me I had to take the binoculars off my eyes, I couldn't stand the terror anymore.

These make a great 1st (and most likely last pair) or 2nd pair if you are unfortunate enough to own anything besides these and happen to get a pair one day in a sudden turn of luck. I feel this next attribute should have a disclaimer. These are not water proof but are water resistant to a certain degree. This is a great thing to have, especially when dealing with electricity.

All in all I would say I give these 5 out 5 stars and have nothing bad to say about them. At the time of typing this 2/14/2009 you can get a pair for around $300, to me this is a great deal considering they cost upwards of 40% more when they came out.
