IR Binoculars - Infrared Binoculars

Infrared Binoculars

IR Binoculars / Infrared Binoculars... how they work, plus reviews of top models ...

The human eye is not adapted to seeing without light, but the human mind has developed amazing devices and mechanisms to allow us to penetrate with our sight even the most obscure darkness.

Nowadays, you can easily buy binoculars with infrared vision and use them at night.

These special binoculars not act only as magnifiers, but also as a second pair of eyes that permit you to see more of the surrounding world.

IR Binoculars - How Do They Work

When the lights are on, you can clearly see everything, can't you?

The main characteristic of light is that it's comprised of waves of energy.

Some of these are visible to the human eye, while others are not.

Infrared is one of the latest and, based on our knowledge of it, infrared binoculars were designed and developed.

The main fact to remember is that you need light to see.

And infrared binoculars provide you with this source of light.

Inside them, you'll discover a mechanism which projects a beam of infrared light, and this is responsible for gathering the image in front of your eyes when you look through infrared binoculars.

The complex system of lenses inside the body of the binoculars takes this image and transforms it so that it becomes visible to you.

You won't see the image as you would in full daylight ... it will be a greenish picture, reflecting what lays before you, the infrared technology using photons and electrons to generate this image.

IR Binoculars - What Should You Look For

A good level of magnification is always important when considering infrared binoculars, to allow you to see at greater distances.

Other important features to look for are the same as when searching for most binoculars ... light weight, high durability, easy to grip and use are all big pluses.

Let's look at infrared binoculars that have received excellent reviews ...

IR Binoculars - Bushnell Night Vision 3.1x50

Bushnell Night Vision 3.1x50 infrared binoculars Bushnell Binoculars always receive great reviews, and are considered ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities - like fishing, hiking, camping ...

Their strongly-built body gives confidence, and the fact that images as far as 400 yards can be seen through this model much appreciated.

They work with batteries and are of medium weight.

One drawback is their warranty, which only lasts two years.

All-in-all though, you'll get a fine pair of infrared binoculars at a decent, medium price.

IR Binoculars - Night Owl NOTB-250 2.5X

Night Owl NOTB-250 2.5X night vision tactical binoculars are considered to be of very high quality.

Also, they're lightweight and compact, making them easy to pack in any bag and take on a nature trip.

The large field of view is much-appreciated, as is the image quality, while its body is built for protection against adverse weather conditions.

A very similar price to the Bushnell product above.

IR Binoculars - Night Owl NOTB-400

Another Night Owl IR model is the Night Owl NOTB-400 Night Vision binocular.

Once again, it's light and compact, being easy-to-use and handle.

Its body is protected from bad weather by a rugged coat, making it perfect for nature lovers.

Although more expensive than the two previous models, its large magnification and wide field of view make this worthwhile.

Generally speaking, infrared binoculars are easy to use, but they work with advanced technology, so you must expect to pay reasonably high prices.
