Nikon 7216 Action 8 X 40mm Binoculars

by Hiedi
(Auburn, WA USA)

A bird watcher, wildlife watcher’s dream!

I am the proud owner of a Nikon 7216 Action 8 X 40mm Binoculars that I got from my local Wal-Mart store last fall, on sale for $66.57.

I am so far please with these binoculars. It is light weight, easy to operate, a sleek black and a very contemporary style. I like the fact that is has a central focus system that is quick and easy to use, it has a 420-foot field of view at 1,000 yards which is awesome when you are wanting to watch birds and other wildlife without giving your self away and can magnify items up to 8 times it’s normal size.

I find that this pair works best for bird watching, which is fine because it is a hobby that I enjoy doing.

What I like best about is the image quality is superb, and the accessories are a huge plus. This set comes with a very comfortable to wear neck strap-a huge plus considering most come with a neck strap that isn’t very user friendly, it has a cover case and eye cup covers. The only, only complaint I have about these binoculars is that it is a tad heavier than I like, but I’m not complaining because of the great value they are.

I will admit that I have used them when I have attended a couple rock concerts and I’ve been stuck in the so called nosebleed section, it has helped me see the stage. Even in a dimly lit situation as a rock concert, the view I get with them is still very clear.

Impressed by their toughness
by: Zach

The Nikon 7216 is a great pair of binoculars. I have had them for several years now and they have never failed me. At 8x40mm they have a pretty decent range, not the longest, but not too short either. I am a pretty avid bird watcher and photographer and bring these binocs with me every time I go out shooting.

These binocs are very rugged. Last fall I took a trip to Mt. Ranier and was enjoying the beautiful sights. We spotted a bald eagle who was about to start fishing and quickly ran over to the riverbank to set up our tripods. I did not realize how slippery the moss on the rocks would be and I went flying, head over heels. My camera bag opened up and things spilled everywhere. The worst damage was felt by my binocs which smashed to the rocks. As I got up and brushed myself off I nervously looked down to see how much I would have to repair. To my surprise and get joy, other than some scratches on the outside case, there was nothing wrong at all. I held them up to my eye and looked off in the distance to see if any of the lens elements had come misaligned. They had not! The eagle was still crystal sharp off in the distance.

I have been very impressed by the performance of this pair of binocs, especially for the price. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a solid item that will hold up for a long time, even in tough situations.
