Nikon 8x42 Monarch ATB Binoculars

by Jennifer
(Fountain Hills AZ)

I am a recent convert to the joys of birding, and these are the binoculars I use! I was given the Nikon 8x42 Monarch ATB Binoculars as a birthday gift in November of last year, and I've been enjoying these binoculars for about 2 months now.

I am very fortunate that they were chosen for me by my father, who is a very avid birder, so he knew exactly what he was looking for when he chose these for me.

One of the most important things to a birder is that the binoculars be lightweight, and not at all cumbersome. These binoculars are quite lightweight, and it's no problem at all for me to hold them up for long periods of time. The strap is sturdy and quite comfortable as well.

I'm also incredibly impressed by the fact that these binoculars allow every bit of available light to get in, so I don't have to strain my eyes at all. In fact, it's amazing because even at times when it's dusk and you'd expect to see very little, the view is great and clear with plenty of light.

Another big benefit of these binoculars is that I find them extremely easy to focus. I am still learning, and I was able to pick up focusing these with really great sharp clarity in a matter of minutes, so I'd certainly say they are beginner-friendly binoculars.

I never imagined I'd be able to spot a baby rabbit at a distance of probably 15 yards or more, and to focus in to see him so well I could see his nose quivering!

I am discovering more things to love about these binoculars every day, and I recommend them very highly indeed!
