Nikon Action 7x35

Nikon Action 7x35

I bought these binoculars while on vacation with my family. We were camping in Bryce Canyon and I wanted to get some binoculars to improve our view of the canyon. I found these at a local sporting goods store for a decent price ($60).

For the money I paid for them, they work surprisingly well. They have a really wide field of view of 489 feet. These binoculars are also really clear. They don't have a really high magnification, but this was good for my family as we have little ones and anything with a higher magnification would be too shaky for them to handle. The binoculars are pretty comfortable to wear, that is unless you have glasses. I had to make sure and wear my contacts when I knew I'd want to look through them, or at least take my glasses off. Having glasses on and viewing through them is not such a comfortable experience.

A few drawbacks for me were the removable objective lens caps and the weight of the binoculars. I somehow, misplaced one of the lens caps and cannot find a replacement for it anywhere. Every time I pack the binoculars I have to make sure I have a towel or a blanket wrapped around them so the lens doesn't get scratched. As for the weight, the binoculars are nothing for me and my husband, but like I said we have smaller children and its a difficult for them to hold the binoculars up, my husband or I end up having to help them hold the binoculars up. Other than these two complaints I really have no big problems with the Nikon Action 7x35 and how could I, they were only 60 bucks. They're a great addition to my camping gear.

Great if you wear glasses
by: Samantha

These have been a wonderful buy for our sports loving family! Binoculars can be quite pricey, but these were very, very well priced at under $60. At first our main concern was that we would fall victim to the "you get what you pay for" scenario, but I can proudly and honestly say that we have gotten our money's worth and so much more.

The view is great - very wide and clear. Sometimes getting the lenses adjusted to your eyes can take a little finesse, but never to the point of being awkward or difficult to use. They are very well suited to those who wear glasses, something that my husband said from the beginning was a must.

We have also found that the field of vision isn't shaky or unsteady as it can be with some other, higher magnification models. This has made them awesome for our kids, and has reduced the headaches and eye strain that can sometimes accompany that shaky view.

The only real drawbacks that I can find is that they are heavy - not terrible, but certainly noticeable. We have found ourselves passing off the binoculars to other people in our group at football games because of the strain that it puts on our wrists.

But as I said, it's not too bad and for the price, I'll take a slightly heavier model! In addition to this, they DO tend to fog up in rainy or muggy weather. We don't encounter too much of this in Arizona, but during a recent camping trip it made bird and deer watching a little frustrating for the kids as they kept complaining about the foggy lenses.

Be that as it may, these binoculars have paid for themselves ages ago, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking into buying a well-priced, well made pair. Great addition to any outdoorsy or sports loving family!
