Nikon Travelite 10X25 Rubber Armored Binoculars

I have had these binoculars for about two months now. I live in a rural (Bush) community in Alaska, and I bought these to use when I am out on my snowmachine. I use them primarily to spot caribou and for some basic bird spotting.

I paid about a $150 for them, but I bought them out here. I would imagine that you can get them for near half that if you shop around. They aren’t the cheapest you can buy and they aren’t anywhere near the most expensive, but they really work great for me. I think they are fantastic value for money.

The “rubberized armor” is a real asset when it’s too cold to take my gloves off, as it provides a fantastic gripping surface. I always feel confident using them with gloves, and haven’t had an occasion yet where I have dropped them. I am not sure how well the “rubberized armor” would work for protecting the equipment from damage. I don’t want to drop them on purpose to find out, either!

Not only does the “rubberized armor” help you hold onto these binoculars, but the overall shape does too. These seem to be a well thought out, well designed piece of equipment. They have a contour that seems to assist in keeping them securely in your palm as you use them.

The cold does not seem to affect their operation at all. The optics are good (for the money) and quite satisfactory for my needs. Yes, I have definitely used binoculars that seem to focus better at (very) distant objects, but those binoculars were big and heavy and I am willing to trade a bit of that quality for the smaller size of these.

Overall, I like them and recommend them to anyone who hikes, or would like to avoid a huge pair of binoculars.

Comfortable and sleek
by: Natalie

Ok, so I?m not snooping on my neighbors but I do love to use my binoculars if I get bad seats at a game or if I am bird watching. Sometimes even at the beach I take my binoculars and I?ve gone through several pairs so I know what I?m looking for.

Something that is easy to adjust, has excellent grip and has a good case. The Nikon Travelite I purchased from Best Buys and I tried out there first. They have a diopter control and can magnify by 10. These are perfect for traveling with because they are compact and you can see very far away.

Good for keeping by your eyes because they are very comfortable and the material is soft right by the eyes. The optics let enough light come so you aren?t blinded and you can see from far away.

Nothing gets distorted and you can really view things all day because of the comfort level. They aren?t small enough to fit in your pocket but they are really small. Gripping in made of rubber so it is perfect for holding for long periods and is non-slip. If you are looking for something that you can use fairly often this is the best choice.

It?s one of the more expensive, a little less that $100 but if you plan on using them for a trip or all the time then you should definitely buy these. Black color makes them sleek and professional looking.
