Tasco 10 X 25 #168RB 288FT/1000YDS 94M/1000M

by Scott
(Delaware, OH, USA)

I purchased these binoculars at a local discount store for use in my hobby of bird watching. I have not been happy and am completely dissatisfied with this make/model of binocular. I wanted something that would enable me to see birds closer up with detail, etc.

These binoculars, to put it nicely, are worthless. Not only do they never seem to be fully focused (no matter how much you turn the focus dial), but they really do not bring you that much closer visually to your target.

I have to admit that, when I purchased these binoculars, I did not know anything about binoculars, did not do any research, and was on a tight budget.

If I recall correctly, I only spent $20.00 on them. I do not feel I have even gotten that much money out of them though. They are nice to the touch, light weight, compact, and have a carrying case you can attach to a belt. These are all great features, but not worth much if the quality of the product is this poor. If I had to do it all over again (which I am doing now), I would not purchase this brand/model of binoculars. I would save up my money, do some research, and get a pair that are worth my hard earned money. I would not recommend these to anyone. I count the purchase of these binoculars as a learning experience--you get what you pay for. I have since seen binoculars that cost in the hundreds of dollars and am currently saving up my money to get a pair that I can actually use and enjoy.

Solid construction
by: Anonymous

I received these binoculars for free as part of a credit card points redemption program. I must say, I am impressed for free binoculars. First of all, they came inside a protective neoprene case. This case alone seemed like it should cost $10.

The binoculars themselves were of good quality. I brought them to a hockey game to test them out, and they did an excellent job. The focusing knob feels a little cheap but that is to be expected. The binoculars have a strap attached to them which seems very solid.

They are covered in rubber throughout their entirety, which makes them feel very protected in case you drop them. They have a 10x25 magnification. This is plenty for the moderate binocular user.

They have a very compact size which makes them easy to carry around with me. If I take them to a sporting event, it is easy to keep them with me and I don’t need to bring a big bulky bag to carry them. Their construction seems very solid and I would expect them to cost a fair amount if I purchased them in a store.

The optics are of high quality and create an excellent view of far away objects. If you can get similar binoculars the same way I did, I would highly recommend them.

I am not sure how much I would actually pay for these binoculars, but as a free gift from a credit card rewards program, they are one of the highest quality products I have ever received.
