Tasco 8X21

by Bourbonjohnson
(Appleton, WI)

I have owned the Tasco 8X21 for a few years and I am pleased with the durability and usability of the binos. I originally found them in the woods while I was hunting in 2003. They were partially buried in snow and mud and I saw a reflection from one of the ocular lenses.

I was unsure what shape they were in, but I picked them up and cleaned them off. I couldn't believe what good shape they were in.

I have carried them with me on many hunting and fishing trips. They have been dropped, run over from an ATV, soaked in rainwater, and many other abusive treatments. Since I found them, I was never too concerned if they got broken. After a few years of abuse, the darn things are in really good shape. Even the lanyard is in tact.

I recommend this brand name to anyone looking to buy a durable pair of binoculars. Besides durability, as you can tell I feel is the most important buying point, the 8X21 is very compact. The pair fits easily into most of my pockets. The binos fold inward for storage and take up about as much space as a doctor’s wallet on payday. The zoom and focus work smoothly even after many dirty adventures.

Although some moisture has soaked the outside and mud coatings are numerous, the inner core has not gotten grainy or vaporous. The only real problem I have encountered is the size limitation. Obviously, the small size does not allow for extreme zooming, only 8X21.
