Zhumell 20x80 Sport Binoculars

by amber n
(Kentucky)

I originally bought the Zhumell 20x80 Sport Binoculars for astronomy purposes. I was interested in star gazing, but had read on several astronomy forums that it was best to start with an excellent pair of binoculars before spending major money on a good telescope.

The Zhumell brand had a good reputation for being a quality product for the cost consensus and upon initially receiving the binoculars I had under estimated their size. The binoculars are monsters, they come in a nice, large case (about 14? x 9? x 5?) that is all binocular. I had read that the binoculars would quickly tire your hands and if you purchase these

I would definitely recommend a good camera tripod to go with them. I noticed that in order to get a clear, detailed view a tripod was a necessity and the sturdier the tripod the better.

They are pretty heavy and cheap tripods don?t do well at keeping them steady enough for star gazing, but once you get everything steady they offer a spectacular view. Aside from views of the moon and stars in the night?s sky, in daytime they have pretty good long distance viewing capabilities and would probably be excellent for any type of outdoor site seeing.

The case seems to provide pretty good protection from dust, pet hair, etc and it comes with a carrying strap and has rings on the back of the case for making it into a backpack. Having no real clue about good binoculars I would consider these worth the money that I paid and especially since I discovered that astronomy wasn?t for me!
